DaveMP 1.00 released
Today I am releasing 1.0 of DaveMP - a lightweight music player web interface.

What does it do? Well, the short version is that it gives you a very nice music player application straight in your browser window. Right now it relies on you having MPD as your audio player (which is available for most unixes, as well as Mac OS X via
darwinports) but support for other players is possible and planned.

Stroll on over to
DaveMP's web site to find out more.

Why I like perl
it's a language with a sense of style and more importantly...

# Writing Makefile for Big::Liar
# Big::Liar's vars
# INST_LIB = ../blib/lib
# INST_ARCHLIB = ../blib/arch
# Writing Makefile for Big:
:Dummy

a sense of humor.
New site
Well, here we are. 2007.

Trying out a new site management tool. It's a bit of a departure from what I'm used to working with, (vi, terminal, etc). I usually do my work through the same tools I use to build sites for my clients.... But as the saying goes - the cobbler's children have no shoes.... Because I spend so much time working with those tools for work during the day, the last thing I want to do when I am done is work with them some more at night. So I'm trying out something different - it's a web site management tool called RapidWeaver which seems pretty nice. And it means I don't have to fiddle with terminal, css, etc. Which for my personal site, makes me pretty happy. We'll see how it goes.

A lot of stuff brewing. Lots of work, as usual. But I've been doing a lot of work on other projects. I have created a new music player - well - for now an interface. It's working title is DaveMP and it is nearly at a 1.0 release state. Will post it here once I have cleaned up the code a bit.

Also have a little web-y business idea brewing. Would be nice to get something rolling that could bring in some low-maintenance income. Will test it out here when it's ready.

Also - Congrats to Shawn. Nice work!
